Appendix C. Getting Started

The Generic Catalog Styler Wizard is designed to take you through the process of building your site step by step, but leaves you the flexibility to revisit any of the steps if you wish to make changes. You can make changes once you have published your site by visiting the Maintenance section.

Pre-Site Checklist

1. Do you have a web-ready logo? The Wizard allows you to upload a logo file from your computer to the web iste, so if you plan to use a logo, have one ready to upload. You can create sites without logos, but we recommend using them if possible. If you need help designing your logo, converting to web-ready format, or uploading, let us know. You can change your logo anytime, even after you publish.
2. Do you know what products you will offer? The Wizard allows you to pick and choose items from our built-in catalog, and build them into a catalog on your own site. You'll have to choose at least a few products before you can preview or publish your site, but you can change your product selections anytime.

Starting Your Site

To begin building your site, go see the Wizard!

Click the Let's Get Started button.

After that, just follow the directions and go step by step through the Wizard. Directions or buttons at the bottom of each Wizard page will keep you on track. If you are unsure about a step, or don't have what you need to complete it, skip it or make an arbitrary selection. You'll be able to make changes later.

Wizard help is always a click away. Each page includes a Page Level Help button to guide you with the topic at hand. Then your browser Back button will take you back to the Wizard.

You can jump around the Wizard by clicking the navigation links at the left of each Wizard page. But don't make yourself crazy. Go through each step in order. Use the links to go back to previous steps, or pick up where you left off previously.
